The Death of My Mother   by Jimmy Warner

My dear mom, Evelyn Pond Meagher, whom
I love beyond measure, passed away from this
life, age 88, on Feb. 28th, 2009, survived only by
myself and my two children, Aleta Bryant Warner
(Brun) and John Lawrence Warner.

  Marie Evelyn Pond, Mrs. Meagher
a native Richmonder, enjoyed her final days
here at my home and died after a brief illness.
A graduate of Thomas Jefferson H. S. and
Smithdale-Massey Business College, her
contributions to life began with WWII related
civilian service and later included many years
of secretarial service to Travelerís Aid Society,
my dadís business, Wm. K. Warner Design, and
20 years to Virginia Commonwealth University Evening College (Mrs. Mars office). She made it
clear to me that she wanted to be cremated,
one more sign of her feisty independent character
which carried her through life.

by JW
She wished to convey to her neighbors,
T. J. grads, as well as her co-worker friends
at V. C. U. what a beautiful life she had being
with wonderful people, working together,
making the best of everyday.

My mom made my life possible from beginning
to end. Aside from me, her great love in life was
gardening, collecting the unusual and making
many photo albums of family as well as very
striking cloudscapes which inspired my own work
as a painter/designer: www.jimmywarnerdesign.com

In lieu of flowers and donations  please honor
her with a skyward glance east or west, the
drama of aerial fantasy and imagination, the
child inside you, still growing, searching for a
color filled scene you can never quite forget.
